Pitbull responds to Lohan lawsuit – with an invite

Lindsay Lohan is suing Pitbull for using her name in the song “Give Me Everything,” and the rapper has responded in a surprising way – with an invitation to the VMAs!

Pitbull addresses the lawsuit in a video posted to his website, Planet Pit. In it, the star says he was “very surprised” to find out about the legal action being taken against him, which he first assumed was some type of joke. But interestingly, the rapper isn’t bitter. Pitbull tells the interviewer that he “supports” La Lohan’s career.

Pitbull also clarifies the lyrics to his song. He says the song goes, “Got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” not “locked up like Lindsay Lohan.” The former would imply that she’s in control, while the latter would be referencing her jail stint.

Pitbull adds that the hit song would, if anything, “help someone’s career,” rather than hurt them. “We mention people’s names all the time,” he points out. The rapper also notes that he finds the lawsuit ironic, considering the “positive” nature of the song and his album.

Pitbull will be performing the song at the VMAs, and “extends an invitation” to Lindsay, saying “hopefully she can come with me… and we can figure this out.”

However, it doesn’t seem like Linds is taking the olive branch. A rep for Lohan tells CNN, “We’re not going to respond to this publicity stunt. You can quote me.”

The rapper may have anticipated Lindsay’s attitude. He says of the suit, “The next step is up to the attorneys, the judges, the courts.”

Lohan compares herself to Marilyn

The actress has always been a major fan of the iconic Hollywood screen legend, but now she’s taking it one step further and comparing herself to the much-loved Ms Monroe in a foreward she wrote for Susan Bernard’s new book, Marilyn: Intimate Exposures.

She said: “Marilyn was the beautiful bad girl in that tight, rose-coloured dress. The character she played was strong and taking control, which I unconsciously knew at that young age 12 was a necessary quality for a woman.”

“I can understand the photographer Bernard of Hollywood’s (Bruno Bernard) statement, ‘it took a superhuman effort to be Marilyn.’ I identify.”

But Lohan didn’t stop there when it came to drawing the similarities between herself and Monroe. The Mean Girls star added: “People in their mind have created who I am and act as if there is no real person inside of me. Just like Marilyn.

“Marilyn never wanted to be just a celebrity. Neither do I… I had always thought that movie stars were in films that would last forever in your mind. But now the films don’t. I don’t want to be remembered as someone who just wanted to be photographed, who goes out at night, and gets in trouble.”

And just like Monroe, Lohan apparently wants to be loved for her talent rather than her infamy.

“Heath Ledger once said to me, ‘It’s built you up to knock you down and that’s all it is,’” adds Lohan. “Marilyn said she had no foundation. But she said she was really working on it. I’ve been trying to do the same thing, I believe in myself and I’m a good actress.”

Lohan’s brother ‘threatened’

Lindsay Lohan’s teenage brother Cody called cops in New York last week after a series of intimidating phone calls left him fearing for his safety.

The 15 year old alleges a mystery caller is repeatedly ringing his cell phone and threatening to “harm him”.

Officers from the Nassau County Police Department visited Cody at the family home on Thursday, but found nothing suspicious, reports TMZ.com.
