Lindsay Lohan talks about life under house arrest

What’s it like to serve house arrest in a $2.25 million, 3,000 square-foot home in Venice Beach, Calif.? Lindsay Lohan is ready to tell you.

In her first print interview since beginning her sentence on May 26, Lohan tells Life & Style she does miss being beyond the confines of her beach-side home. “I’m a very social person, and I like being outside, especially in Venice Beach. I’d like to get out more — just going out and having dinner,” she said about being restricted to her three-bedroom, four-bathroom triplex. “I was really upset not being able to go to my little brother’s birthday party. He just turned 16. That bummed me out.”

Lohan has been filling her days by taking meetings, both of the professional and social variety. “I’ve been having a lot of work-related meetings. Sometimes my friends come over. And I get to see my sister, Ali, which is nice,” she told the magazine.

No matter the purpose, alcohol is not involved. “When my friends come over, they’re not drinking,” she told the magazine. “Alcohol is not in my house, so it’s just not a part of my life.” But when she’s released on June 29, it won’t necessarily mean the end of nightclubs for her. “I don’t think you should ever say never,” she explained.

Lohan insisted in the interview that she’s “grown up,” and she’s willing to do what she has to do to prove just that. But first up, community service, which begins after house arrest. After that, it’s her hope to work in August and September, and ultimately be taken seriously again.

“You go through experiences. I do understand that I need to gain some of the respect back, but I’m willing to work hard for that,” Lohan told Life & Style. “I understand the situations I’ve put myself in, and I don’t want to go back to that.”

Lindsay hosts a rooftop party for pals while under house arrest

Lindsay Lohan may be under house arrest but it did not stop her from throwing a rooftop BBQ this weekend for her friends, TMZ reports.

Lohan, 24, held the “mellow” gathering at her Los Angeles pad because she missed hanging out with her posse while on home confinement, sources told the celebrity website.

The Mean Girls star wore a short floral dress and large sunglasses as she helped tend to the food and snapped pictures of her guests as they lounged in the sunshine.

The actress and her pals lounged around Sunday afternoon on the roof of her condo and then moved inside to watch the season six premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail for pleading no contest last month to taking a $2,500 necklace from a pricey Los Angeles boutique. However, she was deemed eligible to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet at home due to jail overcrowding.

She began serving her sentence May 26 and, according to the rules of her confinement, Lohan cannot consume alcohol or narcotics – but may entertain guests.

Lohan is expected to complete her stint under house arrest by July.

Lindsay Lohan wins restraining order against man

Actress Lindsay Lohan on Wednesday won a two-year restraining order against a man she says sent her delusional phone text messages and left chocolates at her door.

The order by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joseph Biderman came after Lohan had obtained a temporary restraining order against David Cocordan.

Lohan did not attend the court hearing on Wednesday because she was serving a home detention sentence for jewelry theft. She is expected to be released around the end of June.

The 24 year-old star of the films “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday” said in court papers last month that Cocordan believed he was in a romantic relationship with her.

Lohan also accused him of contacting her with more than 100 unwanted phone calls and sexually explicit text messages since 2009.

Lohan, who was once considered one of Hollywood’s most promising actors, has barely been out of the news for four years due to repeated trips to jail and drug rehabilitation.

Lohan’s ankle bracelet replaced

Officials in California have replaced Lindsay Lohan’s faulty electronic ankle bracelet following a false alarm which wrongly suggested the actress had broken her house detention.

The Mean Girls star was sentenced to jail for violating her probation from a 2007 DUI charge by stealing a necklace from a California jewellery store, but will serve her time under house arrest due to prison overcrowding.

Authorities were called to Lohan’s home in Venice, California home on Tuesday after the alarm on her monitoring bracelet was triggered, suggesting she had left the confines of the property, but they found her at home watching TV.

Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Holley has revealed the false alarm was caused by a fault in the actress’ electronic tagging device and the ankle bracelet was replaced the next day.

Holley says, “When a representative from the monitoring company went to her home, the representative found Lindsay there. The equipment was replaced the following day.”
