Lohan dad: ‘Lindsay will stay sober’

Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael has said that his daughter is doing well and believes that she will continue to stay away from prescribed drugs.

Michael, who previously claimed that Lindsay was still addicted to medication, insisted that the 24-year-old will stay sober.

He told Dr Drew Pinsky on The Joy Behar Show: “When she was in jail, there were certain things that happened that really relieved me.

“I really believe that she’s got a connection with God again. I just pray that Dina can get on the same page with me because we both need to be there for her.

“I don’t think I need to be in her life when it comes to the business. I don’t think Dina does. I think leave that to the professionals.”

Lohan criticizes paparazzi on Twitter return

Lindsay Lohan has returned to Twitter for the first time since her release from jail and rehab.

The 24-year-old had not been allowed to tweet while serving her prison sentence or receiving court-ordered treatment at the UCLA Medical Center.

However, the Mean Girls star – who left rehab on August 24 – returned to her account yesterday, writing: “Clearly.. Paparazzi shouldn’t be allowed to take pictures or video while someone’s driving or at a stop light. 4every1′s sake. (sic)”

It marked her first tweet since she referenced her impending jail sentence on July 19, saying: “The only “bookings” that i’m familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that i’d be “booking” into Jail… eeeks.” She surrender herself to authorities the next day.

Lohan had been sentenced to 90 days behind bars and a 90-day stint at rehab in July after violating the terms of her probation relating to a 2007 charge. She was released from prison on August 2 after serving 13 days, and left rehab this week after 22 days.

Lohan back in court

Lindsay Lohan might be out of rehab after her stint in jail but her legal woes are not over.

RadarOnline.com says Lohan will have to be back in court on January 31 over a lawsuit relating to a 2007 car chase.

Lohan is accused of chasing the mother of her former assistant down a LA highway while she has also being sued by the passengers in her car who claim they were kidnapped.

After the chase the actress was arrested for drink-driving and cocaine possession.

Lohan ordered to attend therapy

Lindsay Lohan’s judge on Wednesday laid out a path paved with therapy sessions and 12-step program meetings that could lead to the actress’s recovery and an end to a three-year-old drug case.

It also would allow her to return to work after spending more than a month in jail and inpatient rehab. For the next 67 days, Lohan will be expected to attend psychotherapy, drug and alcohol counseling and random drug and alcohol testing several times a week, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox ordered during a hearing.

If the 24-year-old star succeeds, Fox said he will allow Lohan to return to unsupervised probation and to leave Los Angeles permanently if she wishes.

If she fails to show up or doesn’t pass any of the drug screenings, the judge threatened her with a 30-day jail sentence for each violation.

Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, said her client was eager to demonstrate that she could comply with the rigid outpatient rehab requirements laid by the judge.

“She is very serious about her sobriety,” Holley told the judge. Lohan, who was released from rehab hours earlier, did not attend the hearing.

Lohan back behind the wheel

Lindsay Lohan is back behind the wheel just days after completing her sentence for a DUI conviction.

She was discharged from a rehab facility on Tuesday and on Wednesday she was spotted visiting a Department of Motor Vehicles office in Santa Monica, Calif., in a bid to regain her driving licence, which was taken away after her arrest.

And Lohan was back on the road within a matter of hours — she was spotted driving a Maserati sportscar around Los Angeles early Thursday.

Lohan ‘offered $1m for radio show’

Lindsay Lohan has been offered $1 million to hit the airwaves as a radio host in Long Island, New York. WPTY Party 105.3 FM program director Matthew Goldapper has offered the actress the cash to present a new morning show with her mother Dina.

He tells X17Online.com, “She’s originally from Long Island so we thought, why not give the girl a job and get her life back on track? We’ve been in talks with Dina for a while, and right now, our lawyers are drafting up a proposal.”

The parent company of Party 105, JVC Broadcasting, said in a statement: “We think that hosting a morning programme would be the perfect gig for Lindsay .

“If Lindsay wants to take some time off from Hollywood and spend some much-needed R&R with her family but still needs to atone for her reported $600,000 (£385,470) in credit card debt, hosting Party 105′s morning show would be an ideal way for the starlet to reconnect with her fans.”

However, Lindsay’s judge said that she must continue living in Los Angeles until November 1.

Lohan released from rehab early

Lindsay Lohan has been released from a rehabilitation centre just 22 days into a court-ordered three-month programme. The early discharge came after media reports that doctors treating the actress didn’t believe she was suffering from drug or psychiatric problems that were previously diagnosed.

Celebrity news website Radaronline.com said the actress was escorted out of the Los Angeles hospital unit’s back door into a waiting limousine on Tuesday afternoon, while TMZ.com said Lohan was to receive outpatient care from now on. A court hearing was scheduled to take place today, but Lohan was not expected to attend.

Lohan was released early from jail earlier this month after serving 13 days of a 90-day sentence for violating her probation on a 2007 drunk driving and cocaine possession charge. She was released on the grounds of good behaviour and also to help alleviate overcrowding.

She immediately entered a residential rehab programme in Los Angeles for a 90-day stint ordered by the court as part of her sentence. But the prosecutor in her case said two weeks ago that health care professionals were likely to recommend an early release for Lohan, with follow-up treatment as an outpatient.

TMZ.com has reported that doctors believe Lohan was wrongly diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, for which she has been taking medication for several years. TMZ said she was also incorrectly diagnosed more recently with bipolar disorder.

Lohan admitted in 2007 that she was addicted to alcohol and drugs, and went to rehab three times. She was ordered to wear an alcohol monitoring anklet in May this year and was jailed for missing multiple alcohol education classes imposed as part of her probation three years ago.

The career of the once promising actress, who starred in Mean Girls and The Parent Trap, has foundered in the past three years, with Lohan hitting the headlines repeatedly for nights on the town and bizarre behaviour.

Her mother Dina has blamed a “hardball” judge for over-reacting and sending Lohan to jail. She has also said her daughter plans to return to New York from Hollywood once she leaves rehab.

Lohan’s legal troubles have delayed shooting on her next movie in which she will play 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace. Lohan was last in movie theatres with the 2007 flop I Know Who Killed Me.
